End of Year Message 2016
TO ALL LILITHA COLLEGE OF NURSING STAFF
The end of a year is a good time to look back, reflecting on achievements, and to look forward, to see what we still need to accomplish as an organisation. In an organization like Lilitha College of Nursing with over 3000 nursing students, 500 staff members working on a wide range of both academic and corporate support activities in many different parts of the Eastern Cape Province, and with 25 nursing education institutions across the province, no one can ever see the entirety of your work. TEAM work has paid off as we don’t usually draw attention to the work of individual staff – we work as a TEAM. But in this message to you I want to look at a few particular moments through the year where I have been especially proud of what has been achieved. And at the outset I want to thank you all, especially those of you who had real ran an extra mile to make Lilitha the best academic institution.
To both our International Partners ie AP and GIZ once more we wish to thank them for choosing Lilitha College of Nursing to be where they test commitment of SA into business and hoping that this is going to open more doors for the college to be supported in doing its business. As our partners they have made it possible for us to deliver on the mandate and objectives assigned to the institution, the endless engagements and interactions to shape up LCoN to meet the demands and needs of the Eastern Cape health system. Capacity building sessions held throughout the year to enrich our college academic environment. It is known that in college silent corners there are so many unsung heroes – staff members, who have made this institution to be on the map through international national presentations, we want to salute those and thank you for representing us so well.
We are at the era where the college has to deliver on the new nursing academic qualifications across college institutions, the exercise requires true soldiers who are prepared to be thrown in the deep end and be asked to swim through, once more colleagues thank very much for your endless efforts to support this initiative and ensuring that it does not fail by any chance both at Central Administration Office and Institutional level (Main and sub campuses) as it is reflecting internal capacity of our institution to heed the national call to educate and train nursing professionals:
- Corporate Support Service: for supporting the college core business to survive at the cold phase where service are desperately needed;
- Finance Section: for the provision of the ultimate financial support to all college cost centres the support that our core business requires from time to time;
- Academic Programmes: for ensuring that the heartbeat of our academic operations is tachycardic for the purposes of ensuring consistency and uniformity across all our academic institutions;
- Academic Assessment: for making us proud through annual Graduation and Certificate ceremony, and always meeting the college examination deadline, keep up the good work continue to represent the college well.
We at end of 2016 academic year, January 2017 will be our last month, let us all look back and reflect on our performance and make sure we do even better in the next academic year.
Thank you for all your hard work. I wish you all the very best for the new year ahead.
